Strategic Plan Discussions
The current Strategic Plan for Takapuna Grammar School stands for 2009 – 2013 and is due for renewal this year.
The Board of Trustees are eager to engage the community in these discussions and seek their contribution and input in to the future strategic direction of the school.
Additionally, there is a change of term for the Board of Trustees with elections happening nationally for Board of Trustees in the state schools throughout the country so the development of a new Strategic Plan is well timed.
With this intention in mind, the school would like to offer to its parents, staff and students the opportunity to be involved in discussion groups. These are opportunities for individuals to articulate their aspirations for Takapuna Grammar School in the next four year period. From these discussions some themes will arise which will become the subject of a full community wide survey seeking the opinions of the wider community on the themes.
From both, the Strategic Plan will be created for Takapuna Grammar School, for the 2013-2017 period. This gives the school areas of focus going forward and forms the basis from which Annual Plans are constructed.
We encourage you all to be involved in the process. In terms of timeframes the following dates are provided:
Wednesday 22nd May 10:30am-12:30pm - Student Discussion Groups
Wednesday 22nd May 4:30pm-6:30pm - Parent Discussion Groups
Tuesday 4th June 5:00pm-7:00pm - Board of Trustees/Parents Discussion Groups
Wednesday 5th June 5:00pm -7:00pm - Staff Discussion Groups
Jan Hill from the Education Group and former Takapuna Grammar School Board of Trustees Chair, is going to assist with the process. All interviews will take place at the school. I encourage you to diarise these dates in readiness of the process.
We anticipate that a complete and final Strategic Plan will be developed by the end of June, in readiness for the induction of a new Takapuna Grammar School Board of Trustees, as determined by the results of the election process.
TGS Dance Evening
Our Dance Evening is happening on Tuesday 25th June at the Bruce Mason Centre.
All dance students will be performing multiple works, along with Cactus Dance Company, Musical Theatre, the full Stage Challenge dance, Hip Hop classes from our feeder schools, and everyone's favourite, Special Education.
Former 2011 head boy, Andrew Coshan described last years show as "the best dance evening ever!" and we are pretty confident that this year is going to be even better than last year.
