Waterpolo overview 2010

In 2010 TGS Waterpolo provided two Senior Teams (boy and girl teams) and two Junior Teams Junior A  (mixed) and Development Team (Boys).  A brief summary on how teams performed throughout the year is below.

All teams were supported by a new committee made up of dedicated parents and supporters.  Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to our fantastic coach Kylie Cooper and we all wish her the best on her new coaching adventures.  The committee and players goals are to enjoy their waterpolo and be very competitive in upcoming competitions and tournaments.

Senior Water Polo

SNR boys NISS Div 2   competition Auckland – The boys started the competition slowly improving game by game , but unfortunately were beaten into 7th place, with the most exciting game of the tournament against Northcote which was lost only by a penalty shoot out and after 1hour of playing time.

Junior Water Polo

This year TGS entered two junior teams into local competitions.  The Junior A team was mixed boys and girls and a second development team was made up of boys.

The Junior A team finished third in the Term Two schools competition and is on track to hold its position in Term Three. The development team is made up predominately of year 9 boys who have been committed to trainings and games.  The team is steadily improving and enjoying being part of the larger junior squad.  Isaac Mennie, Ethan Blackwood and Eli McKeown have been provided the opportunity to play for the A team gaining valuable experience.
