The Takapuna Grammar Rowing Club has powered into the 2009/2010 with an impressive showing at the TGS Waitemata regatta on 31 October followed by promising results in the Bennett Shield and Mercer Regattas held over the past two weekends. And to ensure they are powered up for the first big regatta of the year - KR1 on Lake Karapiro 18-19 December - North Shore based Precision Automobiles (Peugeot, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge) has joined the club as a Premier Sponsor with the provision of a brand new Peugeot 4007 SUV for the Director of Rowing, Martin Simoncelli. The sponsorship for the 2009/2010 season is seen as a great fit by both parties. Precision Automobiles Divisional Manager Shaun Mackle states "We are a North Shore based company that has developed a wide customer base in the Takapuna and Devonport areas and see the TGS Rowing Club with its drive and passion as a perfect fit - many of our customers are attached to the club and school and this is our way of saying thank you". TGS Rowing Club President Gordon Walker echoes this : "As all those involved with clubs will know fund raising is becoming more and more difficult and we are very grateful to Shaun and the Precision team for their support and we trust the club and school can reciprocate by continuing to provide winners on the water and customers to Shaun and his team." And to add real spice to the sponsorship, Shaun and the Precision team advise that any TGS Rowing Club OR TGS family or friends who purchase a vehicle, be it new, demonstrator or used, from Precision Automobiles before the end of April 2010 and Precision will donate $500 to the TGS Rowing Club.
