GET INVOLVED WITH THE PTA
We are a relatively small group of committed parents who believe in the importance of maintaining a strong parent, teacher relationship.  It’s not all about fund raising; we have a lot of fun in the process!  We are always very keen to welcome new members so anyone interested can feel free to contact any of us about joining.
It’s a small commitment for a very satisfying result.

PTA News

Fundraising Feast needs your Favorite Recipe
Can you cook up a storm? Do you have a wonderful family recipe that you would love to share? If so, the TGS PTA needs to hear from you now. A beautiful new cookbook serving up the best tastes from Takapuna and Devonport is being produced by the PTA and, best of all, the recipes will come direct from your very own table.

The high quality, professionally produced cookbook is being created to raise funds for a new pool and gym complex at the school - and the secret ingredient for success is you.

So if you missed out on Masterchef but have a fantastic recipe up your sleeve, the call is out for all Takapuna Grammar School parents, friends, teachers and colleagues to submit their own recipes to this fundraising feast.

All types of recipes are welcome, from family favourites to gluten free, jams and pickles to that light fluffy sponge that Nana taught you to make. Every recipe submitted will be considered by a special panel and the final selection will be made.

The cookbook will be sold throughout the North Shore to raise funds for the development of a Community Sports Complex planned to be located on the school grounds. The complex, which will include a pool and gymnasium, will serve Takapuna and Devonport.

Helen Holds the Helm - AGM Elections
Hard-working PTA officers were re-elected at this year’s AGM, with Helen Whitehead continuing at the helm as Chairperson,  Karen Yarnton, Deputy Chairperson, Nicky Pridham, Treasurer and Desiree Mason as Secretary.
I
n her report to the meeting, Helen outlined some of the big successes of 2009, including the Casino Royale Ball, the TGS Golf Day and other events.  With more parents now involved with the PTA, she said she looking forward to a very busy and productive 2010.

Summer Dance Party
The Summer Dance Party was a great success, with all attending enjoying the event which raised funds for sports and arts groups at the school.  A big thank you to all who helped, contributed and attended the dance.

Entertainment Books
Entertainment Books are now on sale at the school.  This popular fundraiser provides a whole range of vouchers and discounts on local goods and services - if you haven’t had yours yet, grab your copy now.

Diary Dates
Save the date for the annual TGS Golf Day. Played as an Ambrose tournament, which makes it suitable for the novice or a budding champion, it will be held at Waitamata Golf Course on Thursday 28th October 2010. Get together a team of four and start practising your swing. Team entry cost includes lunch, water and nibbles to sustain you round the course, an after-match function and dinner plus the opportunity to win some excellent prizes.  It’s a great day out and, for businesses, an opportunity to network and promote your organisation.
