| Peer Mediation |
|
Takapuna Grammar is one of many schools getting students involved in dealing with the harassment that occurs in all high schools.
What is Peer Mediation? Peer mediation is a confidential student run programme that provides Takapuna Grammar students with a chance to deal with harassment without enforcing school disciplinary action. The service is provided during school in a safe, secure and confidential environment with the two occupants of the dispute. This is a voluntary programme in which both parties want the same outcome: resolving the situation, making sure it doesn’t escalate and gives individuals the opportunity to state their side of events and their feelings on the situation.
Our mediators are confidential, compassionate people who are trained to deal with the common areas of harassment in high schools. If you have any queries about mediation don’t hesitate to ask at the student services office or at the counsellor’s office. Alternatively keep a look out for our mediators in the school grounds, you can distinguish them by their mediator badges.Contact: c.dickson@takapuna.school.nz
