The Ex-Pupils’ Library at Takapuna Grammar School
The library, commemorating our Ex-Pupils, is located on the first floor of the Ralph Roberts Building. It is a purpose-built, multi-function space, offering a pleasant, comfortable environment.
Library hours are 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday, including intervals and lunchtimes, and the library is available after hours for events and groups.
Staff and students are provided with a wide range of print and digital resources to meet their teaching and learning needs. The library has three distinct areas: a research area with non-fiction resources and 16 computers with access to educational databases; a fiction area with a large collection of fiction books, graphic novels, and magazines; a reading room with beanbags and comfortable seating. There is plenty of room for students to study throughout the library, and with our wireless capability we encourage students to bring their own laptops and devices. Borrowable e-Books are a new addition for 2012.
Mrs Jackie Rodgers is the Library Administrator and is assisted by Mrs Kay Carter (librarian) and Mrs Kerrie Waite (librarian). The staff are always willing to assist students with their recreational reading and research needs. The librarians encourage and train students to become student librarians; a popular service role available from Year Nine, with the opportunity to become lead librarians and lead a team of fellow students in library duties.
